Despite losing 100m hurdles title we are with you – NOC tells Tobi Amusan

The Board of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has sent a message of encouragement to Nigerian sprint queen, Tobi Amusan, after she lost the world women’s 100m hurdles crown to Jamaica’s Danielle Williams on Thursday at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Recall that Amusan shockingly finished in 6th position in 12.62 sec during the race as Williams, who previously won in Beijing in 2015, timed 12.43 seconds to edge out Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico (12.44sec) with Kendra Harrison of the United States taking bronze (12.46).

However, a statement by Tony Nezianya on behalf of Engr Habu Gumel, President of the NOC, urged Amusan not to lose her focus, adding that she is not alone in the pursuit of greatness.
