Imo Government Set To Distribute Palliatives

The Imo state Government says it is to start the distribution of palliatives to the people of Imo State to cushion the effects of removal of fuel subsidy.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Commodities and Price Control Chief Ezeifedi Umeukaeje who disclosed this while interacting with some Journalists in Owerri said Governor Hope Uzodinma has put everything in place for an efficient distribution and assured that the palliatives will get to every Resident of Imo State.

Chief Umeukaeje said the distribution will start from families in the rural areas and get to everyone in the state.

He said Governor Uzodimma has provided additional support from the state government to ensure that everybody in the state gets enough.

The SA further disclosed that the commodities and marketing Board of Imo State will be established to store up food items and sell at a reduced price to the people, adding that, this will force down the prices of such goods in the market.

Chief Umeukaeje said Governent will liaise with service providers and individuals to ensure that the cost of their services are reasonable and affordable to the people.
