Owerri: VP Shettima Visits Eze Imo

In a significant development for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo state, Vice President Kashim Shettima, has unequivocally endorsed Governor Hope Uzodimma as the most qualified candidate in the upcoming governorship race. The endorsement came during a visit to the Eze Imo Palace, where Vice President Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, paid homage to the chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Highlighting Governor Uzodimma’s qualifications and achievements, Vice President Shettima emphasized the crucial support from influential party figures, including former Governors Rochas Okorocha and Ikedi Ohakim. The unity among these stakeholders is seen as a pivotal factor in ensuring the state’s continued development through Governor Uzodimma’s re-election.

During the visit, Governor Uzodimma informed the traditional rulers that the Vice President and other APC stakeholders had come to seek their royal blessings for the flag-off of his governorship election campaign rally. Eze Emmanuel Okeke, Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, echoed the sentiment, stating that the governor’s concrete achievements merit his re-election.

The Traditional Rulers, in a show of support, bestowed their royal blessings on the event, expressing optimism for a successful campaign rally and the eventual re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

As a testament to the unity within the APC, the Vice President, accompanied by the Governor, later commissioned the newly constructed Toronto-Road Safety road.

The event saw the presence of Governors from Lagos, Jigawa, Kwara, Benue, Ekiti, Sokoto, Ebonyi, Ogun, and Cross River states, further underscoring the significance of Governor Uzodimma’s candidacy within the party.

The flag-off of the APC Governorship campaign rally marks a crucial juncture in the political landscape of Imo state, setting the stage for a closely watched and hotly contested governorship race in the coming months.
