Final Farewell: Mrs. Joy Onwuka, Goes To Be With The Lord

The body of Late Mrs.Joy Onwuka, wife of a former Director of Programmes, Imo Broadcasting Corporation, Venerable Chukwudum Onwuka, has been laid to rest after a funeral service at St Stephen’s Anglican Church Oka in Isiala Mbano local government area.

Speaking during the funeral service, the Bishop of the Diocese of Isi Mbano, Rt. Revd. Godson Ukanwa, said death is not a cessation of existence or annihilation of life, but a transfer of existence to another sphere of existence.

He condoled with the Onwuka family and prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

In his sermon, the Rt Revd. Geoffrey Okorafor, Bishop of Egbu Anglican Diocese noted the abundant gift God gave King Solomon when he requested wisdom and urged Christians to always seek divine wisdom as the world is full of vanity.

He also admonished the living to guard their utterances and encouraged the husband of the deceased, Venerable Onwuka, to be strong just like he, as a clergyman encourages other people in distress.

The Archdeacon of Oka/Ibem Archdeaconry and Vicar, St Stephen’s Anglican Church Oka, Ven. St. Paul Chukwuezi, said Late Mrs Joy Onwuka was a virtuous woman who did her best in the service of God and humanity while alive.

The Chairman of the IBC Pensioners Association, Mr Chidi Madu, said the members were present to show sympathy and solidarity with their Colleague, Venerable Onwuka.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr Uju Onwuka, a brother to Venerable Onwuka, thanked God for the life of the late Mrs Joy Onwuka, who, he said, lived a worthy life and expressed gratitude to all who came to identify with them.
