Gov. Hope Uzodinma Secures Victory in Imo Governorship Election: Sweeps All 27 Local Government Areas

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced the triumph of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent Governor, Hope Uzodinma, in the governorship election conducted on Saturday, 11 November. Governor Uzodinma dominated across all 27 Local Government Areas of the state, leaving no room for his competitors to secure any local government victory.

The final collation of results, held on Sunday morning, solidified Uzodinma’s position with a commanding 540,308 votes, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, secured 71,503 votes, and the Labour Party candidate, Athan Achonu, garnered 64,081 votes.

INEC’s Returning Officer for the Imo state election, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oye, Ado Ekiti, in Ekiti State, declared Governor Hope Uzodinma as the official winner.

In response to his victory, Governor Uzodimma expressed contentment with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the governorship election in the state.
