IBC News Team Hosts Send-Off Event for Recently Retired Director, Lady Chinwe

The News and Current Affairs Department of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) has organized a send-off for the immediate past Director of the Department, Lady Chinwe Asogu, who retired recently after 35 years of meritorious service. 

The ceremony which was held at the Reportorial Unit of the Corporation, had many staff sharing their experiences with the former DNCA while she was still in service. 

Speaking on the occasion, a Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs and former Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, Sir. Innocent Igwe commended Lady Chinwe for displaying a high level of professionalism throughout her stay in the Corporation. 

Sir Innocent said her motivational spirit was exemplary and her eagerness to protect her subordinates, was second to none, while praying God to reward her abundantly. 

Other News staff who spoke, said Lady Chinwe impacted their lives positively and also shared their experiences with her. 

In an emotion-laden voice, Lady Chinwe expressed her gratitude to the staff and wished them greater celebration at their time of retirement. 

While praying to God to replenish their pockets, the former DNCA urged them to remain zealous, hardworking and committed to duty and reassured them of her support. 

Gift items were later presented to the former DNCA as well as prayers for God’s greater grace upon her life.
