Divine Missionary Team supports nursing mothers with food and baby items

A non-governmental organization, Divine Missionary Team has supported a nursing mother with food and baby items, as well as a promise to sponsor her child’s education from nursery to university level.

The Manager of the Divine Missionary Team in Nigeria Dr Mark Chukwu, who announced that the NGO would also offset hospital bills of sick people in the community, made the donation shortly after the Mothers Day celebration held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Parish, Osuachara in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.

Presenting the food and baby items to the beneficiary, Dr Chukwu said that the NGO had adopted Baby Paschal Ezeala, born on March 29, 2024, and promised that the group would replenish the gift items every three months.

He announced that the baby would receive a monthly stipend of N10,000 from the age of eight months to 70 years.

Dr Chukwu said the Divine Missionary Team founded by a Canadian, Rev Fr Thompson Larson would extend the gesture to other pregnant women in the community and also pay two years of school fees for at least 20 students of the parish.

The parents of the baby, Mr Ikechukwu and Maryjane Ezeala expressed their gratitude to the NGO and prayed God to bless the founder abundantly.

Other members of the congregation, also expressed appreciation to the NGO for the noble gesture.

Rev. Fr Peter Ekwebelem had earlier in his sermon, stressed the importance of philanthropy and advised mothers to always respect their husbands and ensure peace in their homes.
